Although the countdown to the festive season may seem to have started a little earlier this year, here at TheKidsDo we are starting to feel full of festive cheer. Throughout December - Kingston Christmas Market
Throughout the month of December, Kingston town centre has been magically transformed into a truly stunning Christmas market. Go along and buy gifts and treats from the traditional market chalets. When it’s time for a pit-stop from shopping you can refuel at one of the market’s food and drink stalls. Soak up the magical Christmas atmosphere with live street entertainment which will also be taking place throughout the month. Seasonal Show-time at the Rose Theatre!
There’s not one, not two but three spectacular seasonal shows that the whole family will love this Christmas. All taking place at the famous Rose Theatre in Kingston!
Tuesday 6th December - Tuesday 3rd January - The Wind in the Willows
Children young and old will love the classic story of The Wind in the Willows adapted and directed by Ciaran McConville and written by Kenneth Grahame. Follow the adventures of old friends Mole, Ratty, Badger and of course the very famous Mr Toad of Toad Hall! The production runs from 6th December - 3rd January and has been described by Mr Toad himself to be: “Quite simply the most important story ever told”.
On 12th December go along to enjoy a festive evening full of wonderful entertainment including Christmas carols, jazz and dance. This is a charity event and proceeds will go towards supporting the Rose Theatre’s diverse programme of learning opportunities. A great way to raise money whilst enjoying an exciting evening of entertainment.
Raise the roof and ‘let it go’ as you take part in the singalong screening of Disney family favourite Frozen. An absolute must for any budding Queen Elsa, Princess Anna, Olaf or Kristoff! The Rose Theatre will be screening the film on 19th December. The audience are encouraged to dress up as their favourite Frozen character and sing away with the stars of the film.

Shhh Christmas is a Secret at Ham House...
Throughout December find out what it was like back in the 1650s when Oliver Cromwell actually banned Christmas! Admission to this event is free, but usual admission charges apply to the magnificent Ham House and Garden.
...But don’t worry because Father Christmas is really on his way!
From 10th December take the magical Christmas trail in the Ham House Gardens to find Father Christmas in his grotto! Every child will receive a pre-Christmas gift from the man himself. Tickets cost £3.50. For more information such as dates and opening times visit
Friday 2nd December - Sunday 8th January - Richmond Theatre
Oh no he isn’t … oh yes he is!
Chris Jarvis star of CBeebies will be back in Richmond Theatre for the third year running due to popular demand! This year’s Pantomime in Richmond is Sleeping Beauty and stars Chris alongside well known favourite actress Maureen Lipman. Sleeping Beauty opens on 2nd December until 8th January and is guaranteed to have magic, glitz, glamour and all the fun of the Panto for all the family.
Christmas adventures and Festive Family Fun (with Santa!) at Orleans House Gallery.
Two fabulous festive family events are happening at Orleans House Gallery. Join the team on Sunday 11th December for Fun session complete with a visit from Santa. There are two sessions taking place 11:00am - 12:30pm and 2:00-3:30pm. Sessions cost £9 per child, book soon to avoid disappointment.
Saturday 17th December - Orleans House Gallery
Also happening at the Gallery is a special Christmas Adventure on Saturday 17th December. Join storyteller Lauren Hall for an interactive session full of Christmas craft, music and story telling. Sessions take place at 11:00am - 12:30pm and 2:00-3:30pm. Tickets are £9 per child.
Saturday 17th December - Sunday 18th December - Festive Italian Market
Buy all your Christmas treats and delights at the Festive Italian Market on Church Street in Twickenham. This seasonal event takes place on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th December from 11:00am - 6:00pm. Great Italian street food will be available along with other Italian produce.
